IASTM is a Soft tissue Technique that uses hand held tools that clinicians use to treat individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction. We use this technique in combination with exercise and joint mobilization in order to produce any changes within the muscle. This tool is designed to treat areas with soft tissue adhesions, chronic inflammation, or degeneration. It achieves this by breaking down fascial restrictions and scar tissue. This controlled microtrauma to the soft tissue is creating a local inflammatory response. This response will facilitate a healing process within the area to actively reabsorb any scar tissue or any other excessive connective tissue that has been formed by your body.
This Process will help increase range of motion, decrease chronic inflammation, and increase overall function of the soft tissue.
