Cherryhill Chiropractic has recently added cupping therapy to the clinic. Although cupping may be seen as a trendy fad in North America, this kind of Therapy has been used in Egyption, Asian, and Middle Eastern cultures dating back to 1550 BC. This technique is used to relieve injured or sore muscles by bringing more blood flow, nutrients and oxygen to the damaged area. We use dry cupping at Cherryhill Chiropractic, which is actually a vacuum type technique to suck the skin up into the cup, this causes blood to flow to the injured area. The therapy may leave some markings, which indicates that toxins have been released from the damaged tissue. These markings are not bruises but my have bruise like appearance.
