What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors believe in your body’s natural ability to heal its self. Chiropractors use many different types of treatment to help heal nerve, joint, muscle, and connective tissue (e.g., ligaments, fascia). Chiropractors will assess for dysfunction in any of these tissues and then perform a treatment to remove this dysfunction, so the body has the ability to heal properly.
Chiropractors will manipulate specific joints, including the spine in order to restore regular motion. Chiropractic manipulation is very safe and an effective form of treatment. It can be used to treat a variety of health issues. The adjustment is a highly skilled and specific technique from a well-trained professional that is applied to the injured area.
Although cupping may be seen as a trendy fad in North America, this kind of Therapy has been used in Egyption, Asian, and Middle Eastern cultures dating back to 1550 BC. This technique is used to relieve injured or sore muscles by bringing more blood flow, nutrients and oxygen to the damaged area. We use dry cupping at Cherryhill Chiropractic, which is actually a vacuum type technique to suck the skin up into the cup, this causes blood to flow to the injured area. The therapy may leave some markings, which indicates that toxins have been released from the damaged tissue. These markings are not bruises but my have bruise like appearance.
